The sheen of Hollywood's Rome is blasted away for this gritty, unflinching tale of an unsung commander in Caesar's Legions. In 52 BCE Gaul, Caesar's forces lay siege to the barbarian stronghold of Alesia in one of the biggest battles in history; nearby, another barbarian army prepares to attack the Romans from behind, led by the rebel Cammius, who once fought for Rome. Caesar dispatches his greatest general, Caius Rodius, to track through the untamed countryside, and bring back the rebel's head. Who better to hunt Cammius, than the man who taught him the very skills he now uses to defy Rome? Torn between duty and friendship, Rodius questions whether the Roman 'road of stone and blood' is a path he still wants to follow. Story by TITO FARACI (Diabolik, Spider-Man: The Secret of Glass, The Devil and Captain America), art by DAN BRERETON (NOCTURNALS, The Punisher, God-Sized Thor, Red Sonja).

Giangiacomo Feltrinelli was one of the most glamorous international publishers of his generation, yet he died violently, as a member of an ultra-left group attempting to blow up an electricity pylon. Born into enormous wealth, he found himself equally attracted to great books and revolutionary politics. Feltrinelli sponsored two great post-war novels - Boris Pasternak's Dr Zhivago and The Leopard by Giuseppe di Lampedusa. Despite the KGB, Pasternak smuggled his manuscript to Feltrinelli out of the USSR, and the editors correspondence with this beseiged writer is relayed in this memoir. In this work, Feltrinelli's son looks back over Giangiacomo's life.

Malinconico is a Neapolitan lawyer without a single case. He goes through the motions every day, leaving for the office punctually, shuffling papers when he gets to the studio he shares with a group of un-gainfully employed professionals like him. His personal life is a shambles: his wife has left him, his two teenage children are rife with adolescent angst and busy screwing their lives up royally. And his professional life, as noted, is nonexistent. But one day a miracle occurs. Indeed, two! The first is that he is assigned a case. And not any old case! He has been named the defense attorney for a member of the Neapolitan underground, Mimmo the Burzone. The second miracle bears the name Alessandra Persiana-the most beautiful woman to ever grace the Neapolitan courthouses -who, it appears, has fallen in love with Malinconico. However, the real miracle for readers in this rollicking novel is the hilarious and eccentric voice of Vincenzio Malinconico. The novel orbits around the bizarre and irresistible mind of Malinconico, a mind that pauses to contemplate every aspect of the life he sees before him, the life he has lived, his memories and his future; a voice that seduces, entertains, and moves the reader from the first page to the last.

“Precise and wryly hilarious...Gauld's both a literature nerd and a science-fiction nerd whose deadpan mashups belong on the same shelf as R. Sikoryak, Michael Kupperman, and Kate Beaton.”—NPR, Best Books of 2013 A new collection from the Guardian and New York Times Magazine cartoonist The New York Times Magazine cartoonist Tom Gauld follows up his widely praised graphic novel Goliath with You’re All Just Jealous of My Jetpack, a collection of cartoons made for The Guardian. Over the past eight years, Gauld has produced a weekly cartoon for the Saturday Review section of Britain’s best-regarded newspaper. Only a handful of comics from this huge and hilarious body of work have ever been printed in North America—and these have been available exclusively within the pages of the prestigious Believer magazine. You’re All Just Jealous of My Jetpack distills perfectly Gauld’s dark humor, impeccable timing, and distinctive style. Arrests by the fiction police and imaginary towns designed by Tom Waits intermingle hilariously with piercing observations about human behavior and whimsical imaginings of the future. Again and again, Gauld reaffirms his position as a first-rank cartoonist, creating work infused with a deep understanding of both literary and cartoon history.
